Den 24-28 september, 2018 bjuder Expertgruppen för biståndsanalys och Sida in till Stockholm Evaluation Week (SEW). Veckan bjuder på såväl öppna seminarier som programpunkter för särskilt inbjudna. Samtliga aktiviteter äger rum i Sidas lokaler på Valhallavägen.
SEW belyser utvärderingens roll inom det moderna biståndet. Här samlas internationella nyckelaktörer inom biståndsutvärdering för möten, seminarier och nätverkande.
SEW arrangeras för första gången. Årets tema är kapacitetsutveckling inom utvärdering, en grundläggande princip i Agenda 2030. Utvärdering är ett verktyg för lärande och ansvarsutkrävande, för såväl medborgare som stat. Länders förmåga att själva utvärdera sin resursanvändning är fundamental för en demokratisk och hållbar utveckling där ingen lämnas utanför.
Utöver kapacitetsutveckling så bjuder veckan på diskussioner om biståndets förmåga att arbeta situationsanpassat, adaptivt och innovativt. Inom ramen för SEW äger också tre parallella expertmöten rum, nämligen CLEAR Global Forum, Nordic+ och Nordic Evaluators’ Meeting.

Seminar: Swedish Aid in Shrinking Democratic Spaces

SEW Seminar: Looking for the “E” – Evaluation Capacity Development in the Era of Agenda 2030

Country led evaluations are a fundamental principle in the follow-up and review process of Agenda 2030. So far, more effort seems to have gone into strengthening data and statistics – raising a concern that the “E” in M&E may be left behind. This seminar will explore the emerging landscape of evaluation capacity development initiatives and current topics that may influence its future shape.

Evaluation Findings: Do Challenge Funds Work? Lessons from a Decade Long Journey

Evaluation Findings: Donors Doing Development Differently? Lessons from Sida’s Management of the MSD Approach

Doing Development Differently includes, among a range of factors, the identification of local problems in local contexts and adaptive approaches. But how can donors practically support this? The event will present evaluation findings of Sida’s management of programs using the Markets Systems Development (MSD) approach and explore lessons for the approach itself, adaptive management, and organizational learning more broadly.
