DDB Webinar: Listening to Locals in Peacebuilding – Experiences from Bosnia, Myanmar and International Peacebuilding Partnerships

Welcome to an EBA DDB webinar on the local–international relationship in peacebuilding, taking place on March 25 at 13:30–15:00 CET!

Swedish development cooperation is increasingly directed at countries affected by conflict and fragility. Sida’s government instruction prescribes the integration of a conflict perspective in all development activities. In peacebuilding and conflict prevention, the relationship with local actors is key but entails various challenges and risks.

How can we understand the local–international relationship based on Swedish experiences of women’s peacebuilding? How can international actors become better at listening to their local peacebuilding partners? What can indigenous practices and initiatives teach us about sustainable peace?

These are some of the questions that this webinar will focus on. The webinar will be based on three new EBA Development Dissertation Briefs (DDBs). These DDBs summarise recent doctoral dissertations on peacebuilding with examples from Bosnia, Myanmar and international peacebuilding partnerships.
