Development Dissertation briefs with Southeast Asia in focus: New research explores media aid, faith-based anti-trafficking work, and the lives of rural youth

26 may, 13:30-15:30, Medelhavsmuséet, Fredsgatan 2, Stockholm

Welcome to an EBA seminar on current development challenges in Southeast Asia. Drawing on three recent doctoral dissertations, the seminar will explore migration, human trafficking, and media aid, and what research can tell us about how development cooperation can be designed in the region.

The seminar will highlight youth migration from Myanmar to Thailand, efforts to combat human trafficking in Thailand and Cambodia, and Swedish media development interventions in Vietnam. Together, the presentations offer new perspectives on complex social issues and policy challenges in Southeast Asia.
