Welcome to a seminar arranged by the Expert Group for Aid Studies.
Watch the seminar here:
Since its founding in 2002 the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) has become an important actor in Swedish development cooperation, both financially and in terms of mandates within several geographic and thematic strategies. The agency focuses on important areas in Swedish aid policy, such as peace, conflict, crisis management, the rule of law and conflict and post-conflict countries, related to SDG 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions.
This seminar launches the EBA report In Pursuit of Sustainable Peace: An Evaluation of the Folke Bernadotte Academy, 2008–2019. The evaluation is authored by Nicklas Svensson, Julian Brett, Adam Moe Fejerskov and Charlotte Bonnet.
During the seminar we will discuss questions such as: What are the most important results and lessons learned from the agency’s work so far? How does the Folke Bernadotte Academy collaborate with other development actors in fragile and conflict-affected states? How should the authority handle its assignment in the future? How can the Ministry of Foreign Affairs use FBA in the most strategic way? How can FBA’s role in Swedish development assistance be strengthened going ahead?
