The Government’s strategy on development cooperation and migration sets clear targets regarding support to partner countries in receiving return migrants from Sweden. This largely implies new tasks for aid programmes.
What are the experiences from other European countries in supporting return migration? What can Sweden learn from others?
Researchers from the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Norway are describing and analysing how their governments have acted, given similar tasks. A synthesis of what this implies for Sweden will also be included in an anthology.
The project is a collaboration between EBA, the Delegation for Migration Studies, Delmi and the European Migration Network Sweden (EMN). Editors are Henrik Malm Lindberg and Iris Luthman from the Delmi secretariat. Chair of the reference group is Torbjörn Pettersson, member of the Delmi board.
The anthology is expected to be published in spring 2026.
