What are the similarities and differences between Scandinavian policies on Africa?

This year, both Norway and Denmark introduced new strategies for engaging with Africa, a continent of more than 50 states and 1.4 billion people. EBA’s Managing Director, Jan Pettersson, is part of a conversation on why Norway and Denmark need official strategies when Sweden – historically the largest Scandinavian donor to Africa – does not. How do Sweden’s, Denmark’s and Norway’s interests differ on the continent?

The seminar, organised by Global Bergen, a joint initiative between the University of Bergen and CMI – Chr. Michelsen Institute, will also feature Lise Rakner (University of Bergen), Elling Tjønneland (Chr. Michelsen Institute) and Anne Mette Kjær (Aarhus University) will also participate in the discussion.

Time: 12 November 8.30-9.30
Location: Bergen Global, Jekteviksbakken 31, Bergen. You can also participate digitally.
Registration: Scandinavian strategies for Africa – Bergen Global
