Welcome to an EBA seminar on current development challenges in Southeast Asia. Drawing on three Development Dissertation Briefs (DDB)*, the seminar will explore migration, human trafficking, and media aid, and what research can tell us about how development cooperation can be designed in the region.
The seminar will highlight youth migration from Myanmar to Thailand, efforts to combat human trafficking in Thailand and Cambodia, and Swedish media development interventions in Vietnam. Together, the presentations offer new perspectives on complex social issues and policy challenges in Southeast Asia.
*What is a Development Dissertation Brief?
A Development Dissertation Brief (DDB) is a publication format at EBA in which the purpose is to communicate new research in a concise and accessible format to policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders in the field of development.
The seminar will be held 26 maj, 13.30-15.30 at Medelhavsmuséet in Stockholm.
